Developmental Disabilities
All of our Developmental Disabilities programs are funded and operated in conjunction with New York State’s Office for People With Developmental Disabilities. Consequently, one must be determined OPWDD-eligible to access services. This is done by contacting OPWDD and completing their Front Door process.
Once you reach out, OPWDD will determine eligibility for services (through assessments and documentation), and assign you a Care Manager. The OPWDD Care Manager will work directly with your family to suggest and identify services, submit applications and obtain approvals, and interact with community providers like The Foundling to sign up for programs and supports.

Once you’re signed up with OPWDD, you may discuss The Foundling’s programs through your Care Manager, who will share information about available opportunities, assist with tour appointments, and connect you with our staff.
