The mission of The Foundling’s Vincent J. Fontana Center for Child Protection’s Public Tour is to educate and sensitize the public and child welfare professionals about the history of child maltreatment and gain an understanding of current initiatives in the field. Participants will learn about the impact of child abuse and neglect through the voices of child abuse victims and their caregivers, portraits of adult survivors of child maltreatment, and media highlights of child abuse and neglect in the United States. Participants will learn important facts and recent research about child maltreatment and how they can intervene and contribute to the primary prevention of child maltreatment.
Space is limited and attendance is first come, first serve. To secure a spot, please contact FontanaCenter@nyfoundling.org (attention Minerva Deleon).
